Porte is an elegant sans serif font inspired by stone carving and disproportionate typefaces of early 20th century. While remaining classy and elegant, Porte is actually super modern, boasting awesome OpenType features, precise and exhaustive kerning (about 2000 pairs) and lots of discretionary ligatures to make your designs look amazing. With 489 characters on board, it's ready to be used in Latin (all major European languages) and Cyrillic alphabets. We've also included a handful of stylistic alternatives to make sure you have as much control over your design as possible. Porte is perfect for headlines and headers but it also does a great job in larger bodies of text.

This project started from flyer printed during 1947 with movable type, the specimen was scanned as a source to development some of the uppercase letterforms. However the most unusual and tricky element from this sample is the leg from the uppercase (R) which is different from the original Herold design, until now I didn’t found where this version originally came from.
